Island runs on your Mac and keeps to itself. It has no analytics, no tracking, and no account to sign into. We don’t know what you’re listening to, how long you focus for, or that you opened the app at all.

One thing: your licence key, when Island checks that it’s valid. That check also carries a name for the machine, so you can see which of your devices are using the licence and free one up.

Nothing else leaves your Mac. Your timer history, what’s playing, and everything you do in the app stay on the device.

Your name and email address, and the details of your order.

Payment goes through Lemon Squeezy, who act as the seller of record and handle the card details — we never see them. Their own privacy notice covers what they do with your payment information.

Because we need it to give you what you bought and to support it afterwards, because you asked us to, and because tax law requires us to keep records of sales. If you’re in Europe or the UK, those are the lawful bases the GDPR asks us to name.

Lemon Squeezy, because they process the sale. Nobody else. We don’t sell your details or hand them to advertisers.

If the business is ever sold or merged, your information would move with it. We’d tell you first.

We’re based in India, so that’s where your information is held and handled. Buying from elsewhere means it’s transferred there.

For as long as your licence exists, plus whatever the tax authorities require us to hold onto afterwards.

We keep what little we have locked down and share it with nobody. No one can promise the internet is perfectly secure, so we’ve tried to make the honest answer to a breach be that there was very little worth taking.

Write to us and we’ll tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Deleting it means we can no longer support or reissue your licence, so we’ll check you want that first.

Depending on where you live these may be rights in law — under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, India’s data protection rules, or your state’s if you’re in the US. We don’t distinguish; ask and you get the same answer.

Island isn’t sold to anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from them. If you think we have, tell us and we’ll delete it.

There’s nothing to opt out of. We don’t track you across the web, so a Do Not Track signal changes nothing about what we do.

If this changes we’ll update the date at the top. If it changes in a way that matters, we’ll email you.
