Who you're buying from

Island is made and sold by Island App, Bengaluru, India. Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the seller of record — they’re who appears on your statement and who collects any sales tax or VAT.

Buying Island means you accept these terms, our privacy policy and our refund policy.

What you get

A licence to use Island on up to 3 devices you own or control, for as long as you like. It doesn’t expire, and updates are included.

You’re buying a licence to use the app, not the app itself. We keep ownership of the software, the name and the design.

You need to be 18

Island is sold to adults. By buying it you’re confirming you’re over 18 and that what you told us at checkout is true.

What you can't do with it

Don’t resell it, share your licence key publicly, or work around the licensing. Don’t take the app apart to rebuild it or to defeat the licence check.

Everything else — using it at work, on your own machines, however you like — is fine.

Refunds

Set out in full in our refund policy.

No promises we can't keep

Island is sold as it is. We’ve built it carefully and we use it every day, but we can’t promise it will never have a bug, never stop working after a macOS update, or suit every way you might want to work.

If it goes wrong, what you can get back is what you paid. We aren’t liable for lost work, lost time, lost data or anything else downstream of the app misbehaving. Wherever your local law gives you rights that override this, those rights win.

Your side of it

If someone comes after us because of how you used Island — breaking these terms, breaking the law, or infringing someone’s rights — you cover us for it.

If something goes wrong between us

Email us first. Almost everything gets sorted that way, and we’d ask for 30 days to try.

If it can’t be, the dispute goes to arbitration in Bengaluru, India, in English, and the arbitrator’s decision is final. This doesn’t stop either of us going to court to protect intellectual property.

Which law applies

The laws of India, with the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka. If you bought as a consumer somewhere else, this doesn’t take away protections your own country gives you.

If we stop

If Island is ever discontinued, the copy you have keeps working. We won’t reach into your Mac and switch it off.

Changes and mistakes

These terms may change for future purchases. The ones you bought under are the ones dated at the top of this page on the day you bought.

The site may occasionally have a typo or an out-of-date detail. We fix those when we spot them, without notice.

Everything else

These terms are the whole agreement between us. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest stands. If we don’t enforce something straight away, we haven’t given up the right to. We may transfer this agreement if the business changes hands; you can’t transfer your licence without asking.

We’ll deal with you by email, and you agree that counts as writing.
